The United In Excellence Fund is an initiative of the JTHS Foundation and is named after United In Excellence (UIE), a Greek-style step-team that ran as a community and after-school program at Joliet Township High Schools, District #204 from 1996-2008. UIE is a growing, national network of over 50 JTHS alumni, community members, and stakeholders. Our network raises money to offer scholarships and post-secondary supports to graduating seniors pursuing degrees in the Fine& Performing Arts, Community Service, and STEM fields. Our scholarship recipients must demonstrate excellence in their academics, out-of-school time participation, and in their capacity for leadership. United In Excellence was founded by JTHS alumni Cristi Washington-Gaither (Baltimore, MD) and Erick Deshaun Dorris (Joliet, IL) in November 2016.
